This blog is about my DIY adventures with two Hammond organs. Not any B3, just some of the cheapest models. But my intention is to take them as high as possible! Of course there will be some "poor mans" Leslie copies as well.

Projekt Hammond 142J

This organ was the first one.
This is what the organ looked like when i got it in Östersund. The plan is to cut it into pieces and give them a better sound and a more fashionable look.

The most valuable part is of course the rotating leslie speaker.

The plastic opening for the leslie speaker. This will be much more sophisticated. I promise!

Finally! The organ is sawn off and divided into small parts! Now it remains a technical examination of how it is constructed, in order to improve the function. For example, I'll try to make some presets for the lower manual. Original sounds are incomprehensible bad! Unfortunately there are drawbars only for the upper manual, but I am sure I can fix it! Moreover, of course there will be be a all new cabinets for each candy!

  1. Hi, do you still have this 142J? I have a blown resistor in mine and I would like to try to replace it. But the stripes are all burnt off. Any chance you could help me work out what value resistor it should be? I would just need you to take a look at the one inside yours.
